“Traditions are an important part of the holidays. In the spirit of empowered self-care while you are on your journey of healing, I would like to suggest a couple of things. First of all, let go of some of your holiday traditions that are particularly draining on your energy. You can always pick them up again next year when you are feeling stronger and healthier. Second, replace those holiday traditions with some new traditions that are just what the doctor ordered. I think you’re going to like these traditions so much that they’ll become a permanent part of your holiday celebrations.”
Here are some suggestions:
Make a cup of tea and pick your favorite movie to sit down with. One that brings you joy whenever you watch it.
Sit down with your favorite book or buy one you have wanted to read. There is nothing like getting into a good book to relieve the stress that surrounds you.
Treat yourself to a massage or a facial. When is the last time you did this for yourself?
I know these new traditions may seem a little self-indulgent to many of you. But taking care of you is priceless-for you and your loved ones. Think outside the box this year-you deserve it!
I wish you a most blessed
and Healthy Holiday Season!
